An article published by the New York Times details the measures some hotels are taking to keep guests safe during their stay, namely through air purification systems. Many hotels, like the El Paso del Norte in El Paso, Texas, have installed air purification machines into their HVAC systems. These machines work to cleanse the air of viruses by sending “charged ions out on air currents that damage the surface of the virus and inactivate it. They may also bind with the virus aerosols, causing them to fall or be more easily filtered out.”
The article discusses the effectiveness of these devices, where and how they’re being used, and their usage for travel.
